Chris Franks

Dear Members, I am very sorry to have to tell you that Chris Franks died on Friday 17th October, following a short illness. Chris was introduced to the Green Wyvern by Gordon Winterton as part of a group of pupils from Edlington Comprehensive School near Doncaster, during the early 1970s and he has sailed regularly on The Broads since that time. Our condolences to his Mother, family and friends. Notice of the De-Rigging Party and Annual General Meeting 2014 Dear Members, The De-rigging Party will be held on Saturday 1st November 2014 at The Reedcutter, Cantley from 7.00p.m. – buffet supper £12.00 per person. The Tony Tomkins Cruise Friday 2nd May – Monday 5th May 2014 Dear Members, We will not be sailing on The Tony Tomkins Cruise this year, however John Duff and Andy Gordon, who are both sailing have very kindly agreed to plan the cruise. Their plan is attached below. At the moment, for a number of reasons, only Stella Genesta and Mimosa are definitely cruising. I am sure that they would welcome more company, either by boat, or in a purely social capacity at any of their mentioned venues. If you would like to join them, by boat, please contact Andy Gordon so that he can book enough moorings. We had an excellent Easter Cruise with very good sailing and weather, ending in the best attended Rigging Party for several years. Green Wyvern 2013 Summer Cruise Dear Wyverns, Thank you for booking with the Green Wyvern Yachting Club for part of our 2013 Summer Training Cruises. This year we have four weeks of cruising. The crew lists will be circulated at the end of next week. The attachments are as follows: Summer 2013 First Letter This gives details of the: Drop off and collection places and times, Travel Information by rail or road Emergency contact numbers for Senior Instructors and Commodores for each week. Operating Procedures These are for Senior, Instructors, Instructors, Assistant Instructors, Commodores’ of the Week, Skippers and First Mates. Please try to read these before you sail, but you do not need to print them out unless you particularly want to as a hard copy is available on each yacht. These have been revised for 2013. Commodores/Senior Instructors Packs These will be circulated at the beginning of each weeks cruise. There will also be packs for Skippers.
