Dear Wyverners,
Welcome to the March Newsletter, which includes information about the 2018 club cruises,
rigging party, working weekend and Instructor course.
With the sub-zero temperatures of the past week the sailing season may seem a long way off
but it will be upon us soon. Only four weeks to Easter and some will be sailing before then. No
doubt many boat owners will be braving the cold weather in various boat sheds preparing their boats for the spring.

Working Weekend
It seems not many can get the week off work so the ‘Spring Working Week’ is condensed to
a weekend starting Saturday 10
th March. The working supper is planned for 19:30, Sat 10th at
The Ship, Reedham. No fixed menu is planned so we will be eating off the regular menu.

Keel Boat Instructor Course
The club does need more instructors and to this end are running an RYA
Keelboat Instructor Course from Sunday 25
th to Friday 30th March at
Cantley. The course will be run by Mark Elson from the RYA using Green Wyvern club
member boats. This is excellent news and if successful we should end up with 5 more
instructors. As far as we know this is the first time a club on the broads has run a Keelboat
Instructor course on River Cruisers. The participants will attend a Powerboat Two (PB2)
course at Nancy Oldfield Trust on Saturday 24
th March, then move to Cantley for a precourse assessment on the 25th followed by the instructor training from the 26th to the 30th.

We look forward to seeing you all on the rivers this spring.
