Green Wyvern 2013 Summer Cruise

Dear Wyverns,

Thank you for booking with the Green Wyvern Yachting Club for part of our 2013 Summer Training Cruises. This year we have four weeks of cruising.

The crew lists will be circulated at the end of next week.

The attachments are as follows:

  1. Summer 2013 First Letter

This gives details of the:

  1. Drop off and collection places and times,
  2. Travel Information by rail or road
  3. Emergency contact numbers for Senior Instructors and Commodores for each week.
  1. Operating Procedures

These are for Senior, Instructors, Instructors, Assistant Instructors, Commodores’ of the Week, Skippers and First Mates. Please try to read these before you sail, but you do not need to print them out unless you particularly want to as a hard copy is available on each yacht. These have been revised for 2013.

  1. Commodores/Senior Instructors Packs

These will be circulated at the beginning of each weeks cruise. There will also be packs for Skippers. This data is confidential and must be looked after safely and returned to the Commodore at the end of each week.

  1. Cruise Fees

Any outstanding cruise fees should be paid by 1st July 2013. For first time and second time sailors with the Green Wyvern, this includes club membership for the week that you are sailing. Please send either a cheque made out to the Green Wyvern Yachting Club to me, Rosemary Winterton, 47 Marine Parade, Gorleston on Sea, Norfolk NR31 6EX or directly to the Green Wyvern Bank Account – number 01968342 sort code – 30 94 17. Please reference your payment with the name of the person sailing and the week 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on the week that they are sailing. This is really important as it will help our Treasurer, David Valentine to track payments.

Please make any outstanding payments as soon as possible as we will all be sailing soon. If there are any financial difficulties, please speak to David Valentine on 01920 468 019 or 07810 246 169. Thank you.

  1. Booking Forms

If you have not returned your booking form with the necessary emergency contact details etc, please do so as soon as possible as I will be collating this information this weekend.

  1. RYA Status

If you have RYA Qualifications – Levels, 1, 2, 3 etc please email me with your level and whether you have taken these in Dinghies, keelboats or multihulls. This will help your skipper to know your level of experience. This is especially important if you have gained further RYA qualifications since sailing with us last year.

  1. RYA Handbooks

Please remember to bring your RYA logbook with you if you have one. Please let me know if you do not have a handbook so that we can ensure that we have enough copies for everyone.

Finally

I hope that this gives you all the information that you need but if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or on 01493 665332 before 18th July 2013 as we shall be sailing after that date. My mobile number is 07742 961 447. Jonathan’s mobile is 07546 576 971 or send us a text and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Crew lists next week.

I look forward to seeing you on the river soon.

Best wishes
